To Whom It May Concern,
I am pleased to offer my strongest recommendation for Joseph Andreo, who has served as Scout Executive for the Housatonic Council since May 2024.
I have been the President of the Housatonic Council since January 2022 and had the privilege of chairing the search committee that recruited and hired Joe into this role. I have worked closely with him and observe his leadership, decision-making, and performance firsthand. From the outset of his tenure, Joe has distinguished himself as an effective and disciplined executive leader, particularly in the areas of financial management and resource development.
Through careful budget oversight, thoughtful cost controls, and a renewed focus on fundraising strategy, Joe played a central role in helping the Council finish fiscal year 2025 with a surplus for the first time in several years—a significant milestone for our organization.
Equally important, Joe has demonstrated exceptional skill in building relationships with business and community leaders within our Council. He has successfully increased both direct financial contributions and in-kind donations of materials and professional services. These efforts have had a tangible and lasting impact, most notably at The Edmund Strang Scout Reservation, where donated resources and services have enabled the Council to significantly reduce long-deferred maintenance, improve facilities, and enhance the overall camp experience without placing additional strain on operating budgets.
I recommend Joseph Andreo without reservation. He is a principled, capable, and highly effective executive whose leadership has made a meaningful difference for the Housatonic Council. He would be a tremendous asset to any organization seeking a leader with strong financial acumen, fundraising expertise, and a passion for service. Please feel free to contact me.
Should you require additional information.
Sincerely,
Joseph Pinto
