It is my pleasure to write this letter of reference for Joe Andreo, who is a candidate for your Scout Executive position. During the time I have gotten to know Joe, I have found him to be the consummate volunteers professional. His extensive knowledge of the Scouting program as a boy and as an adult well qualifies him to lead your council. Whether it is Woodbadge, Camp School or serving as a Commissioner at the National Jamboree his love of Scouting is clearly evident and it shows in his actions.
Joe has succeeded very nicely as a development professional and his resume speaks to those accomplishments. However, all the work that he has done raising money, it is always with an eye towards how it will help Scouts in their local unit. His relationship skills work very well with the business community and he tells the Scouting story with passion.
Those relationship skills are equally evident with rank and file Scouting volunteers. Joe is a careful listener when unit leaders speak with him. He truly seeks to understand and embrace their perspective, always looking to improve the Scouting experience for our youth.
Joe will bring sound “programmatic and business relationship” experience to your council.
