Dear Selection Committee,
It is with great honor and without hesitation that I provide my recommendation for Joseph (Joe) Andreo. Joe does not work for me directly in the Housatonic Council, but for our neighboring Connecticut Yankee Council. Joe and I have worked together over the last five on a co-sponsored golf outing.
The golf outing was originally exclusively sponsored by Housatonic Council but was having unimpressive attendance and results, this led to a potential cancellation. An idea developed to make this golf outing a success both in raising funds and friends. The suggestion was to do something with the Connecticut Yankee Council. I reached out to Joe and asked him what he thought of the idea, and he shared his thoughts and concerns on how we might make this collaboration work. Joe is an Eagle Scout and displayed his leadership and the values of the Scout Oath and Law during our discussions. Joe’s experiences provided a balance to the needs and demands of the event.
Each year as we have planned our golf outing, Joe and I discuss ways in which we might earn additional funds, gain attendance, and make the event special. We work side by side and have developed an excellent rapport with each other. Joe is a good communicator and shares his expectations, current progress, and thoughtful considerations of how the event can earn additional funding to support youth, gain more attendance and streamline the event.
Joe’s work ethic, desire for achievement, willingness to learn, and understanding of the ramifications of the long-term relationships make Joe Andreo someone I am enthused to work with each year of our golf outing.
